Winter 2022 Fashion Trends

Dig out your grandparents’ old pictures because this winter, we’re seeing a resurgence of some of the most iconic garments from the era.

In the wake of the pandemic, fashion shows featured a variety of creative presentation approaches, including digital and augmented reality, with collections that were both creative and adaptable and for winter 2022, designers are finding ways to incorporate comfort and style into even the coziest of pieces. From puffer coats to leggings, these pieces are versatile enough to work seamlessly with almost any occasion.

Ski Chic

This season, oversized puffer jackets and coats are the highlight of the collection. They can be worn with anything.

The collection was inspired by the contrasting colors and textures of the Alps and was filmed in the iconic Cortina d’Ampezzo. The highlight of Miu Miu’s show was a selection of stunning ski jackets in varying shades of lilac, nudes, and blues. It also featured a variety of layered silk slip dresses, loose knits, and faux fur coats, all of which were paired with outstanding ski jackets.

Many designers revived this trend by re-creating its iconic shape. From Louis Vuitton to Brunello Cucinelli, there are plenty of designers who are ready to take on the mantle once again.

Patchwork 

This season, designers are taking sustainability to the next level by combining it with impeccable craftsmanship.

Designers like Jeremy Scott and Stuart Vevers started using unused fabrics from their previous collections to create fresh and unique pieces. The result was a collection that showcased a variety of patterns and colors.

Patchwork clothes are a great alternative to traditional pieces for a bohemian look. They can be worn with a variety of accessories to make them look sophisticated.

Pleated skirt

Indulge your inner schoolgirl in the elegant pleated skirt. It is a nod to Princess Diana’s style and is a must-have for any aspiring entrepreneur.

Bold brights 

Shades of grey were prevalent in the Autumn-Winter shows, but this year Crayola brights stole the spotlight this season, with neons being featured heavily at the shows.

It was spotted in many different fashion shows such as Balmain, Prada, Versace, Bottega Veneta, and many more. 

Denim on denim 

In case you weren’t aware, denim is back! This season, designers are taking a look at the old school favorites from the 1980s, while also experimenting with new looks like acid-wash denim and slouchy denim

Aside from jeans, there’s also a lot of attention being paid to the finer details of denim. From the impeccable fit to the unique detailing, this season’s denim is a definite hit.
